Welcome to Oxford Judo, home of Oxford University and Oxford City Judo Clubs.
Both clubs have long independent histories which go back many years (see history section) but since 2006 we have come together as a federation under a single name and logo using the sports facilities of Oxford University. This offers an outstanding opportunity for members of both the University and the wider Oxford community to train and compete together and to develop their judo skills to an ever-higher level.
Please take a look at our Recent Updates to find out about our achievements.
We are located in a dedicated dojo at the Oxford University Sports Complex off Jackdaw Lane and Iffley Road. We currently have around 50 regular members from the Oxford area but are always recruiting experienced judo players from within and outside the University.* Beginners may have to wait until the start of the next beginners’ classes, which usually take place at the beginning of Michaelmas Term.
Judo is an excellent way to improve fitness, strength, agility, and confidence, and at Oxford Judo we combine our enjoyment for training and competition with a strong social core.
Membership fees are only £5.50 per month for Oxford University students, £11 per month for other students and £16.50 per month for non-students. For this bargain price it is possible to attend up to 5 sessions per week during Oxford University term time and 2 sessions out of term. Join Us.
We look forward to seeing you on the mat!
*We regret that we do not have classes for children at the moment although local alternatives are available.
