Humphrey is an experienced Musculoskeletal and Neuromuscular Therapist who has worked in Orthopeadic & Neurological Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine and with Elite Athletes in both the USA and UK. He has an educational background in soft tissue manipulation, neuromuscular therapy, massage, physiology & clinical kinesiology and is currently completing post graduate studies in clinical nutriton. He qualified as a clinical manual therapist at BCMT in Boulder,Colorado and moved back to the UK in 2007. He has treated and worked with Olympic Triathletes, GB Climbing Team, Pro Cyclists, Pro Rugby players and Divison 1 American Football Teams and brings this experience to his practice.
He is also a published writer on Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation and Performance for Sport Ex Medicine and SUMMIT Magazine. These include papers on: Athletes, The Immune System and the Benefits of Massage; Treating the Breath and Diaphragm for Sports Performance; Posture, Poise and Flexibility in Sport Climbing; The Art of Recovery – Finger Injuries in Sport Climbing; Cortisol, The HPA Axis and Connective Tissue (to be published).
He offers treatment of injuries, sports massage and performance nutritional testing from his practice in Oxford which is based in Jericho. He is offering the members of the Oxford Judo Club a 40% discount on treatments throughout 2010.
