All Oxford Judo members and fans are excited about our members who are participating at international competitions in Sarajevo in Bosnia and in Herzegovina and in South Africa.
After a training camp at St. Ives, our new secretary Carina Venter (Team Silver at BUCS 2011) is flying to South Africa to participate at the qualification to London Paralympics 2012. The entire club wishes her best of luck. We also hope that she will fulfil her dream to fight in London in front of her friends from Oxford Judo.
Ifor Capel (Individual Gold at BUCS 2011) and Rebecca Bayliss (Individual Bronze and Team Silver at BUCS 2011) have, based on their performance at BUCS 2011, been selected to represent Great Britain at the first European Universities Championships that will be held in Bosnia on 23 – 26 June 2011 (http://www.eurouniversitiesjudochampionship.com). Furthermore, our head coach Chris Doherty has been selected to lead the British Team.
Oxford judo is extremely proud that the commitment of our members could be rewarded by attendance at such prominent international events.
