On Saturday Carol hosted a super successful women’s session where women of all grades and ages had a lot of fun together.
It was really nice for the experienced women to meet up with novices who are gonna join us in the regular sessions soon, and as a mixed-gender sport it was lovely to dedicate two hours to just training and catching up with likeminded ladies.
The event was part of the This BUCS Girl Can initiative to focus on women in British university and college sports, and a lot was learnt (and re-learnt) in an encouraging and positive environment. The last few years in the club have really shown that women presence fosters women participation, and hopefully this can become a regular session in line with the growing number of female players in the club.
