6 Medals and 2 Trophies Won at Inaugural London Inter-Universities

What a month, Oxford hit the ground running with lots of competitive judo throughout November finally ending the month in style by taking 6 individual medals and 2 of the 3 tournament trophies at the first London Inter-Universities tournament.

Bradley Joyce was on good form in the under 100kg category (although due to numbers ended up fighting in the over 100kg) and took gold. Some great judo from Alex jones produced some stylish ippons to secure gold in the mens dan grade under 60kgs.

Other strong performances were displayed by Becky Bayliss who took silver in the under 63kg dan grade ladies, silver for Frank Curry in the mens kyu over 100kgs, and Bronze for Amy Elllis-Thompson in the ladies under 63kg dan grade and Emma Burnett in the womens under 57kg kyu.

In addition to the 6 individual medals the Oxford team also won the most points throughout the day to take home the Dan grade team trophy and the combined dan and kyu grade points trophy.

Congratulations to all that competed, and thanks to all of our supporters that made it across for the day!
